A couple years ago, L’Oréal Paris released a new mascara with a unique shaped wand that some have since claimed to be the best mascara ever. Luckily, the Fashion North team have reviewed this product to help you decide whether this should be your next make-up essential.

First impressions and application
My first impression of this product was confusion about how its applicator would actually apply mascara onto my lashes, and if it did, whether it would lead to my lashes clumping together. L’Oréal Paris described it as ‘high-precision flexible multi-comb’, which was a thin wand with tiny bristles. However, I was pleasantly surprised to see that it was the one of the smoothest applications I’ve ever had as each individual lash was separated and defined. It was even easier to use than my usual mascara that has a more volumised and long wand brush. Additionally, the wide bottom design was helpful because as I applied the product, I could balance the open tube on the table without the container falling over or rolling away (a problem I’ve had many times in the past).

The results
L’Oréal Paris said that this mascara gives ‘up to 60% longer looking lashes and intensity lash by lash’. I partially agreed with this because when I tried it there was no clumping, so every lash was individually defined. Additionally, although their website advised to ‘layer multiple coats for even more volume’, the coverage was good enough within the first coat.
However, whilst there was definitely some added length, I felt like it has a pretty similar result to other high street brands.
How it looked throughout the day

After I left the mascara on for multiple hours afterwards, there was no fallout or flaking onto my skin below, and no smudging even in warm weather. The length, definition and curl of my lashes seemed to stay the same throughout the day, which I haven’t seen much from other brands that I have used.
Conclusion
Overall, I think this product is really good quality especially for the price (approximately £10) since it kept my lashes more curled and defined than any other mascara I’ve tried.
It is available at Boots, Superdrug and Amazon.
