Our challenge this week was to pick a theme for a fashion or beauty flatlay and to bring in a selection of items that fit this.
My theme was ‘a girl’s most prized possessions’ focusing on items we keep on our bedside tables or in our bags, the essential parts of our life such as hobbies, necessities and interests. You can learn a lot about someone based on what they keep in their bag or bedside table, it can give you a huge insight into their personality so I wanted to showcase this by bringing items that you’d likely find in mine and many other girls possession.
Sourcing items for my flatlay was easy as majority of the objects are my own personal items that I keep in my bag or bedside table and use regularly.
For the first flatlay, I went with ‘the contents of a girl’s bedside table’ featuring the important items that a girl would grab regularly after waking up or before bed. For example books, skincare, lip balm, hair brush, candles, haircare, flowers, trinkets and decoration.
For the second flatlay I was inspired by the ‘contents of a girl’s handbag’ so I tried to recreate this. These are the key things we can’t leave the house without and must accompany us in our bag, special items we want with us all the time like: lipgloss, mascara, lip balm, makeup brushes, hairbrush, perfume and jewellery.
