2025 is all about conscious choices, choices that start with what we put on our bodies. It’s time to pay attention to labels, brands, and claims to choose products that align with our values.
Vegan beauty is paving the way in the industry, with no animal-derived ingredients, consumers receive honesty from the business when it comes to harm, production, and more. When a brand can deliver these things, it’s a win in our books at Fashion North.
About the Product:
We tried the Percy & Reed’s Shine and Fragrance Spray and everything it offers left us pleasantly impressed. This spray claims to give your hair a luminous gloss that leaves all hair types soft and silky.
The fresh smells of grapefruit and peony are nothing compared to all the guaranteed benefits packed into this bottle. UV protection for hair is something impossible to find in products, this is what makes Percy & Reed’s spray a summer must-have. Along with this, the spray is vegan, cruelty-free, gluten-free, sulphate free, and paraben free. To use it you simply shake well and spray 10cm away. But don’t forget to leave it to set for 15 seconds before touching.
Personal Experience with the Product:
As someone with naturally thick, dark Spanish hair that is pin-straight and tends to have a natural shine, I found the product’s promised ‘luminous glow’ less noticeable on my hair than it might be on other textures or tones. However, I did notice an impressive, long-lasting fragrance. From the first spray, the scent was immediately complimented and even after an hour-long walk in the sun, the fragrance lingered in settled and lasting notes. The enduring factors of this product and assured values of the brand makes it a winner in Fashion North’s eyes.
TOP TIP: I found this product lasted longer when used on wet hair, could this be the way for you?

About the Product:
We then tried Nailkind nail polish in the colour ‘Wine O’Clock’, and things went unexpectedly. The brand promises trend-forward hues and glossy finishes designed to complement all personalities.
One again its what lies hidden beneath the product that really sets Nailkind’s polishes apart. To offer that luxurious feel without the luxury price tag, the vegan and caring polish is made with 85% natural ingredients, perfect for your year of being conscious. But the question is, can a formula rooted in sustainability rather than synthetic chemicals give that salon-worthy look? Fashion North finds out.
Personal Experience with the Product:
The name ‘Wine O’Clock’ lead me to expect a deep, rich red from the get-go and when I was met with an unexpected pink tone I was slightly skeptical about this product. Would it really match what it was branded to be? But, with a second coat, the colour was quickly corrected into a sharp red- aligning more with my expectations. The Nailkind polish served an unassisted, quick-dry finish, as advertised. This makes it an ideal option for on-the-go painting sessions. Ultimately, the product met everything it was advertised to be for Fashion North.
