PROM season is almost upon us so professional make-up artist Jemma Porter showed Fashion North how to get the perfect prom look. “‘I’ve gone for a very soft, glam look, which is perfect for prom”, said Jemma, who did the make-up for our prom shoot with occasion wear brand Dressi.co.uk and jewellery brands https://www.qpjewellers.com and https://www.goldboutique.com
“The glitter lid keeps it glamorous, but I’m using a subtle contour and highlight, very dewy skin, and a natural, nude lip,” said Jemma. “It is still a dressy look, but it’s lovely for young skin, and girls going to prom.”
The make-up artists, who is almost fully booked for this year’s prom and graduation season, started with the brows, using one of her holy-grail products, MAC Spiked brow pencil for a fluffy look. Next she moved onto the eyeshadow where she primed the eyelids, filled the crease with shades of soft brown eyeshadow before adding a stunning glittery lid. She used the MAC Dusky Rose x9 palette, and a Stila liquid eyeshadow for the glitter. Next up, Jemma lined the waterline with dark brown eyeliner and added a fluttery pair of eyelashes.
Moving onto the base, Jemma used MAC Studio Fix Foundation, which is another of her make-up essentials. “Having a good foundation is essential,” she said. She added MAC concealer, and set the look with a mineralize skin finish powder. She used an Illamasqua highlight for the fresh, glowing skin.
The finished look is a stunning glam, but the natural skin keeps it wearable. It is the perfect companion to any Dressi dress!
