Yesterday (June 1) was the opening night of the University of Sunderland’s Shine exhibition.

The exhibition, which was hosted at 5th Base Gallery on Brick Lane, showcased the work of Fashion Product and Promotion graduates.

In a bid to let industry professionals, bloggers and the general public see what each student has to offer the university hired out the gallery to allow their students to display their work in their own style.

With Prosecco on entry the chic gallery was painted in white with students work on tables, hanging from walls, displayed on computer screens and hung on mannequins. The feel was ultra cool, sleek and showcased the future of fashion.

As the course allows it’s final year students to do anything with their dissertation from producing garments, pattern cutting, creating a magazine to photography, the exhibition was the perfect way to show each individuals take on fashion.

On the opening night talent scouts from the Kering group, who manage companies such as Alexander McQueen and Saint Laurent attended to view the graduates work.

Shine will be on at the 5th Base Gallery until June 4 at 10pm, keep on eye on Fashion North for exclusive interviews and videos with the graduates and their collections.
