The annual Bridges Student shopping night is back

One of the most popular events for students in the North East is returning this month to the Bridges adapted to ensure it is Covid safe with extra precautions including keeping the building open with the aim of keeping everyone spread around the Bridges rather than remaining in one place.

This year’s event, from 5pm until late on Monday 27 September, gives new and existing students an opportunity to use a range of discounts along with freebies from brands including Coca Cola and VK. Discounts include, 20 per cent off at River Island, Krispy Kreme, Footasylum as well as many other big names.

To lift spirits and create a party mood for students, DJs from the new Newcastle nightclub, The Lofts will have music playing throughout the evening.

Karen Eve, Centre Director at the Bridges, is delighted that the event can go ahead this year.

“The student night is always massively popular and it’s fantastic that we can bring it back again,” she said.

“We’ve already got some amazing discounts available with more retailers joining on a daily basis so we can look forward to a brilliant event, giving last year’s students the chance to make up for lost time as well as welcoming the new students to the city.”

The discounts can be accessed by any student who has a free wristband, which are available by registering at the Bridges, collecting one from the promotions team at Sunderland University Student Union from 10am until 4pm on the day or at the Bridges from 3pm onwards.

The Student Raid is a free event open to all and is a great opportunity to get ahead of your Christmas shopping whilst making the most of the discounts. Click here to reserve your ticket.
