Your guide to Evo Emerging 2015

On Saturday 23th May Evolution Emerging takes over Ouseburn with 40 different bands and musicians performing at the 9 different venues, including The Cluny, The Tanners and Retreat. All these local acts from the North East will attract huge masses of fans to the music event which this year will have been running for 7 years. Evolution Emerging has unearthed countless artists from the North East and beyond, with notable performances from Lanterns on the Lake, Mausi, Nadine Shah, Beth Jeans Houghton & the Hooves of Destiny, We Are Knuckle Dragger, Eliza and the Bear, Lisbon, The Lake Poets and Lulu James. Back in 2013 the event was nominated for Journal Culture Award’s Best Event Tyneside. The event is also proud partner for PRS for Music’s Centenary year.

Headlining this years Evolution Emerging are local bands Lisbon, Hyde and Beast and Shields.

But they are just 3 of the 40 different acts performing from 7:15pm until 11pm on the night. At any one time, 9 artists may be playing across our venues. The wristbands allow you to ‘venue-crawl’ and see as much music as possible and sets are staggered across venues to allow that. Of course with many people attending, the organisers have a warning:

Please be warned that entry to venues and sets is on a first come first served basis. Entry to venues is not guaranteed. In the event that venues hit capacity, a one-in-one-out policy will be adopted. If you are keen to see a particular artist, ClashCheckers will be uploaded in advance of the event and on the night and we advise you to arrive at the venue early enough to see the artist you want to see.

Here is a handy schedule of all the acts for you to decide who to see:

The venues aren’t too far apart, all being held in the Ouseburn area of Newcastle. Here is a map of the area to help you get around:
