When it comes to Halloween, the Fashion North team didn’t miss a chance to make a statement. With the opportunity to take a costume concept and absolutely kill it on the night, we did! Combining the forces of our fashion and beauty specialisms, our gruesome team whipped up some gory looks that you won’t be quick to forget. Now check out our inside look of Fashion North’s Halloween 2025 successes…

Kira Hunter as Princess Tiana

Editor Kira Hunter in a Disney-approved Princess piece

Kira Hunter’s simple beauty look and tiara is pure princess. Wearing Princess Tiana’s staple green, you can find our editor’s royalty-approved corset on Amazon. To complete her outfit, Kira’s boyfriend went as a frog for the ultimate Princess and the Frog Disney look.

Katie Davison as Pennywise

Features Editor Katie Davison’s creative clown look

An actually scary Halloween is in full swing this year with Katie’s It-inspired clown costume. Our features editor did an iconic beauty look of a character that is instantly recognisable to all horror fans. This is a great look to recreate at home by using a red lipstick to draw lines from the corner of your mouth to your eyes.

Katie Davison as Lady Gaga

Features Editor Katie Davison telephoning in as iconic Gaga

For her second night of Halloween, Katie Davison stepped into the shoes of the iconic popstar Lady Gaga. At Fashion North, we love to get crafty with DIYs to perfect our costumes. Where else would you find Gaga’s renowned Telephone music video cigarette sunglasses other than making them yourself.

Katie Higson as a Vampire

Deputy Editor Katie Higson channelling her inner vampire

If you want a classic scare, Katie’s vampire costume might be more your style. Her base makeup look includes Maybelline New York concealer and Model Co cream blush, but Katie transformed the look from everyday to Halloween special with just one product. Fake blood.

Isabel Vadillo as Frida Kahlo

Social Media Editor Isabel Vadillo’s artsy Kahlo look

Embodying the iconic painter Frida Kahlo, Isabel Vadillo hand-made this Kahlo-inspired flower headband herself with Superdrug’s wide Alice band and pink flowers. To nail that perfect monobrow look, our social media editor used Maybelline’s colossal mascara, a product she swears by on a daily.

Emma Jones as Scar

Beauty Editor Emma Jones’ villainous Scar face

If you’re looking for a group costume with your friends, why don’t you opt for Disney villains? Emma Jones took on the role of Scar this Halloween and as our beauty editor, her face card did not disappoint. To get that lion look, get those curlers in your mane and some Amazon animal ears on.

Ria Dawber as Cheryl Cole

Hitting Newcastle’s top clubs as Geordie icon Cheryl Cole is the perfect combination for Halloween 2025. Ria Dawber donned Cheryl Cole’s most popular look from X Factor’s first live performance of Fight for This Love. This matching red military hat and blazer can be found on Amazon.

Jess Martin as Padme Amidala

Reporter Jess Martin’s Star Wars-themed look

For her first Halloween costume of 2025, Jess Martin rocked Padme Amidala’s all-white look from Star Wars Attack of the Clones. In recent years, this outfit has been a fan-favourite to go solo or match with your Anakin. If you want to recreate this look, ASOS’s white long sleeve top and Dr Marten’s platform boots should do the trick.

Jess Martin as Jennifer’s Body

Reporter Jess Martin in her second look from Jennifer’s Body

Embodying Megan Fox’s most iconic role as Jennifer Check, Jess Martin’s second look was there to scare. The 2000’s horror/comedy Jennifer’s Body is the perfect balance between gory and gorgeous. To recreate this look you may need to sacrifice a white dress but it sure is worth it.

Jaden Dytham as Poison Ivy

Reporter Jaden Dytham’s poisonous DC comics costume

Our reporter Jaden Dytham went all-out for Halloween 2025, creating 3 standout looks. First, she took on DC comics legend, Poison Ivy. Jaden crafted her own green corset by embellishing the neckline with faux ivy, you can find this on Amazon. For the finishing touch, she sported another Amazon favourite, those vibrant green tights.

Jaden Dytham as Cady Heron

Reporter Jaden Dytham’s second look inspired by Mean Girls

‘Why are you dressed so scary? It’s Halloween!’ Mean Girls Halloween is in full swing with Jaden Dytham’s Cady Heron costume. With another DIY special for her second 2025 spook, Jaden handmade this unmistakable dress from the cult classic film and musical.

Jaden Dytham as Rita Malone

Reporter Jaden Dytham’s Flushed away couples costume

Jaden wrapped up her 2025 Halloween run with a nod to Anglomania icon Rita Malone from Flushed Away. Inspired by the character’s signature jeans, she hand-painted her own pair with bold red and white paints to recreate the Union Jack. This couple’s costume was a major highlight of Fashion North’s Halloween round-up.

Lucy Harrison as Wilma Flintstone

Reporter Lucy Harrison matching as the Flintstones

Lastly, Lucy Harrison also opted for a couples costume with her boyfriend this Halloween. Time travelling back to the stone age, this pair looks like they stepped straight out of Bedrock. To buy into the Fred and Wilma Flintstone idea, get yourself the look at Funidelia.
