Sunday night (November 23) saw the music industry stars gather together at the Nokie Theatre L.A in Los Angeles, California, for the 42nd American Music Awards. Stars came out in their forces, American and worldwide acts alike, all in one place to celebrate the industries best from the past year. We take a look at some of the best and worst dressed celebs from the red carpet event.
Jennifer Lopez: Jen, we’re not fooled by the rocks that you’ve got (those shoes and clutch bag are beautiful) because honestly – What were you thinking? The Reem Arca dress looks very mummy-like and we mean the ghoul kind. We understand if you have a set of abs like J-Lo, who wouldn’t want them on show 24/7? That’s cool by us but maybe something a bit less Scooby-Doo?
Taylor Swift: It’s not fair that someone can look so mermaid-like. Was she really even trying? Guaranteed if we put on a long green maxi skirt and crop top we wouldn’t look 2% as gorgeous as Taylor Swift did in her Michael Kors dress. Yet another lady showing off those hard earned abs. It feels like you don’t even need to try anymore Taylor, we salute you!
Heidi Klum: There must be midriff fever going around at the moment because these ladies can’t get enough of them but there’s something about Heidi Klum’s Versace two-piece that we just don’t like. It almost looks as if she got her dress stuck in her car door on the way to the event and used a roll of glittery masking tape to D.I.Y it back together. Sorry Heidi, we’re just not a fan.
Rita Ora: The silhouette of this Zac Posen dress makes Rita Ora look simply stunning. Having a simple top knot and neutral make up (but HELLO brows!) makes the zing of this dress even more amazing. That fit and flare style dress makes Rita’s hourglass figure scream out from underneath it. And who wouldn’t want a fabulous red carpet train like that? Yes please.
Diana Ross: Now, Diana, don’t get us wrong we love you, but really, deep down what is going on? Didn’t anyone tell you that you were wearing the Christmas turkey? Not even your daughter? Oh Diana. You’re still fabulous, honestly, just maybe next time step away from the feathers? That black dress underneath would have been fabulous without it! Remember, less is more.
Kendall and Kylie Jenner and Khloe Kardashian: Do these girls ever stop amazing us? Leg splits are a trend for these ladies. Kendall stands tall and powerful in her gorgeous Yigal Azrouël mesh gown while Kylie oozes elegance in her crimson silk Alexandre Vauthier dress. Khloe however, manages to make her very plain black Versus Versace look simply stunning. Teach us the ways Khloe, we want a simple black dress to look this striking.
