And the Brit award for best dressed goes to…

If you’re anything like we are at Fashion North, you’ll also be obsessed with the Brits. From the performances to the speeches what’s not to love. However, the most important element to any award show has to be the outfits. If you missed the 40th Brit awards on Tuesday night, so didn’t get to see the array of outfits worn by those who attended, then not to worry as we’ve picked out our top five favourite looks.

5. Sam Fender

Geordie singer, Sam Fender was wearing an ice blue Richard James suit. To put a spin on a classic double- breasted suit however, the trousers were loose fitting, giving an oversized look to the suit.

4. Amber Davies

Amber Davies, winner of Love island 2017, sparkled on this year’s red carpet in a floor length, silver sparkly Zeynep Kartal gown.

Every last detail of Amber’s look was flawless: her slicked back top knot with not a strand of hair out of place, her natural, sun kissed, bronzed makeup look, her simple yet elegant ROX diamond earrings and her Rene Caovilla open toe, heeled, sandals with mesh, fishnet sock detailing embellished with crystals.

3. Maya Jama

Maya Jama added a whole new meaning to the classic black dress with her Brit outfit.

The TV and Radio presenter was dressed in an Alonuko Bespoke black velvet gown. The dress had a sweetheart neckline, a slit up the right leg and a train to add drama to the look.

Maya paired the dress with long black gloves, black heels, a black clutch and a sliver bracelet. Giving us major Breakfast at Tiffany’s vibes.

2. Harry Styles

Actor, singer and former One Direction star, Harry Styles is known for his outrageous and daring fashion choices, and what he wore to the Brits was no exception.

Harry wore a few different outfits over the course of the night, the first was a brown Gucci suit, which he paired with a purple sweater, purple nails and a pearl necklace. He also appeared to be wearing a black ribbon which is traditionally a symbol of mourning. Many people are speculating online that the ribbon was worn in memory of Caroline Flack who died last Saturday.

However, my personal favourite look from Harry was the white lace Gucci jumpsuit he wore while performing ‘Falling.’

He paired the jumpsuit with white lace gloves, which added to the aesthetic of his overall performance, creating a very beautiful and memorable image.

1. Mabel

Singer Mabel won best female solo artist, 30 years after her mother, Neneh Cherry won the same award.

When accepting the award Mabel was dressed in a black mesh Valentino gown embellished with silver jewels. Underneath she wore Coco de Mer lingerie showing off her incredible figure.

The dress wasn’t the only thing that made the singer stand out, to complete the look her hair was straight and sleek and her makeup flawless. Every element of Mabel’s look left us in awe.
