It was announced yesterday that Scottish-born fashion designer Pam Hogg has designed The BRIT Awards trophies for 2016.

Each uniquely bespoke trophy will be different. Some covered in glitter, others adorned in bright hues and stars. Reversed monochrome, shimmering silvers and bold white are just a few among the line-up.

The designer holds a Master’s Degree from the Royal College of Art in London and has designed for celebrities such as Rihanna, Taylor Swift and Jessie J.

She is to follow five other designers who have showcased their talents in previous year’s BRIT awards including; Vivienne Westwood’s 2011 British inspired creation showed the trophy draped in the Union Jack, Damien Hirst’s multi-coloured polka dot effort presented in 2013, and the most memorable 2014 design by Phillip Treacy of a striking black and white design fronted by a spherical hat.

Hogg told the Brit Awards: “An artist’s true reward is that her/his work resonates and connects. Given a chance, the unseen unheard and unsung may also one day touch and unlock a waiting heart.”

BRITs Chairman Max Lousada, said: “Having designed for some of the world’s greatest music artists, it’s absolutely fitting that Pam is bringing her unique vision to The BRITs trophy. The fact that each statue will be a unique, bespoke piece mirrors her status as a truly singular talent and we are delighted to be working with her.”

Her collection will certainly resonate next year and bring a fresh and unique feel to the awards.

See Hoggs designs come to life at The BRIT Awards 2016 will be held at the London O2 arena on 24 February 2016.
