Fashion North has been a regular visitor at the Yves Saint Laurent Style Is Eternal exhibition at the Bowes Museum, Durham, so it will come as no surprise that we jumped at the chance to gaze lustfully at the collection once again when we took our latest Fashion Journalism students along to take a peek.
The collection, which has been two years in the making by the Bowes museum’s Fashion and Textile Curator, Joanna Hashagen, was definitely worth the wait.
The exhibition showcased some of the brands most iconic pieces with Saint Laurent’s traditional and revolutionary approach to the modern woman’s wardrobe. The five themes included Haute Couture, Masculin-Feminin, Transparence, Art and Spectaculaire.
