London Fashion Week AW15: Anya Hindmarch

Britain London Fashion Week

Anya Hindmarch got the show on the road, almost literally, with her latest offering of fun bag, accessories and clothing.

Only Hindmarch can take a mundane road signs and turn them into autumn’s most coveted bags, and she did just that in this season’s traffic inspired collection.

The show kicked-off as the models took to the motorway-like catwalk and strutted down in lanes, each carrying one of the perfectly executed bags.

The bags, from oversized totes to backpacks to tiny box clutches, were plastered with an array of signs, from speed camera warnings to arrows and STOP lettering. Stand-out pieces were a white tote, which pictured the popular service station character Little Chef, and a small khaki bag printed with the words GO.

The bag charms were, as always, a highlight of the collection – in the shape of Eddie Stobart lorries and bright orange traffic cones.

For the first time the collection expanded into clothing and other accessories. Due to popular demand Hindmarch decorated boiler suits and knitwear with a similar use of symbols and icons.

The show closed perfectly with a vibrant performance from a fluorescent army of the London Gay Men’s Chorus, all dressed as workmen in high-visibility vests.
