Milan Fashion Week AW15: Prada

Italy Fashion Prada

Prada’s AW15 collection was highly influenced by the 60s and 70s era; from masculine tailored scuba suits to delicate tweed pinafores, this collection brought a futuristic twist to a retro outfits.

The catwalk was set in numerous rooms, each laid with steel flooring, 41 models paraded the floor to the beat of electro style music.

All models were styled in a smart, colour contrasting shirt, which was worn underneath their main garment. Each model held a medium-sized ostrich skinned leather zipped handbag, matching the outfit perfectly.

The luxury fashion house set the accessory bar high this season, from oversized handbags to oversized olive coloured sunglasses and opera style leather gloves.

Keeping with the 70s vibe, the Mary Jane platform shoes added a definite retro feel to outfits, but still managed to keep the outfits looking sophisticated.

Some dresses featured panels which contrasted exquisitely with shirts which were embellished with oversized rhinestone.

Shoulder panels played a big part in this collection, made up of faux fur or oversized scuba bows and embellished floral brooches.

Geometric patterns were a huge part of 70s fashion and Prada certainly brought this back into the 21st century with their mac style coats and empire lined dresses.

Keeping the make-up minimal, with neat ponytail up dos, the attention was drawn towards the beautifully shaped outfits.

Overall, Prada impressed us, and the fashion world, with their beautiful and elegant collection, certainly making their city proud.
