Global DJ Anja Schneider caught up with Fashion North to tell us how she manages to juggle her job while being a mother and still looking great. The Berlin DJ shared her beauty secrets with us, giving an insight into her go-to beauty products, which may just help you on those crazy days.

“When it comes to beauty and look, I would like to say drinking two litres of water every day, sleeping at least eight hours each night, always eating organic and healthy foods…exercise and a stress free life is the key for me. But of course in reality it’s not like this at all – I’m always on the road and my life is too hectic. But thankfully I do have a few little gems that work for me.”

It’s no secret that DJs don’t get the recommended 8 hours sleep a night while on the road, they want to look good, but have limited time available to them. We know ourselves, make-up can be a blessing sometimes. Anja let us in on her favourites.

“My first big obsession is a face powder from a vegan company called Hour Glass, their Ambient Lightning Palette and blush are really amazing and if you don’t have anything else, they are a lifesaver. They make you look fresh, young and healthy. They’re miraculous, and in my line of work a godsend which I cannot live without. Also in this range is another gorgeous product, Hour Glass Primer Serum which is excellent for all those long days and nights. It goes under your foundation for even and flawless coverage.”

“Your foundation is easily the most important product, finding one that suits and blends with your skin type and tone is paramount. It is as the name says the foundation of your make-up. I have used Dermatologica for a long time, Cover Tint Medium is perfect, light, natural and lets your skin breathe and gives the impression you aren’t wearing too much make-up. I like to look as natural as possible.”

Anja added: “My new and glorious discovery is L’Oreal’s Nude Magique Blur, it replenish and revitalise the skin, smoothing over minor irritations and makes your skin baby soft – just what I need after an all-nighter.”

As one of the hardest working individuals in the business, Anja’s musical career has excelled since starting out in the radio booth as a producer for KissFM, and then later as a radio persona for Fritz Radio. Anja’s keen ear defined the emergent of unearthing talented newcomers such as Sebo K and Pan-Pot when the label was first launched in 2005.

Last year saw Anja’s busiest Ibiza season to date, with gigs at El Row @ Space, Flying Circus @ Sankeys Ibiza and Solomun + 1 Music On. Anja’s career goes on to flourish as Mobilee’s legendary rooftop parties at Hotel Diagonal in Barcelona – once a guest list only affair at off-Sonar has expanded to 10 key dates across the summer, which iwll be repeated in 2015, and the latter half of 2014 saw the release of a new EP from Maya Jane Coles, plus a second EP Jimmy from Anja herself, which is a follow-up to the standout Dubmission EP that was released in May 2014.

Anja capped off arguably the strongest year of her career in 2014 with a no.99 placing in RA’s year DJ poll, and if that is anything to go by, 2015 is going to be even bigger.
