Paris Fashion Week AW15: Balmain

Olivier Rousteing’s AW 15 collection was inspired by the 70s disco era; flared pants, oversized belted coats and stretchy fabrics were the main elements in the collection.

Aside from the typical simplicity in colours and strict silhouettes, unexpected floral prints and glowing colours, such as yellow, green and purple, appeared during the show.

The show began with a yellow jumpsuit which was worn by Alessandra Ambrosio, other famous faces like Adriana Lima, Kendall Jenner and Karlie Kloss were seen on the catwalk. Long sleeved lace tops were perfectly combined with slim, fringed skirts or long, voluminous, pants.

In the spirit of the 70s, the styling included huge belts, long round earrings and black tights, as well as pointed-toe pump heels and small clutch bags which added the finishing touch of the look.

Some of the best pieces were glitzy fledged dresses and green fur coat.  The most memorable look included an orange wrapped jacket with purple flared pants which donned eye-catching colours and cuts.

The show finished with a black jumpsuit with a beautiful silhouette, green oversized belt, long black coat and accessories, such as a small pink fur bag and necklace.

Overall, Balmain’s AW 15 collection resembled a high-class trip to the disco era led by some of the most beautiful girls in the fashion industry.
