Ready-To-Wear: Miu Miu FW22 at Paris Fashion Week

Miu Miu re-birthed their iconic skimpy two-piece in their Fall Winter 2022 collection for Paris Fashion Week today (8/3/22). Attending the show were celebrities such as Vanessa Hudgens, Camille Rowe, Ella Purnell and Cindy Bruna, all sporting previous Miu Miu designs.

This year’s collection featured a variation of their viral low cut silhouette which debut at their SS22 show and has since been seen on just about everyone. Miuccia Prada showcased this new androgynous collection on both male and female models for the first time since 2008. This has everyone questioning whether Miu Miu are re-launching their male collection?

This season incorporated heavier materials such as leather and tweed in multiple variations from oversized jackets and blazers and buckled boots to low waisted skirts and double belted micro shorts contrasting the whole winter vibe. But, that’s just how Miu Miu does it.

Atypical actress, Bridgette Lundy-Paine, walked the catwalk showcasing an argyle jumper, which are seen multiple times in the collection, paired with a matching heavy duty black leather jacket and shorts set.

The show opened with a series of sporty pleated miniskirts and polos. This again set the tone for their inclusive line which contrasts their usual hyper feminine Miu Miu girl pieces. The sets were showcased paired with a belt, ballet pumps and ribbed socks which were continuous throughout the entire collection. There’s no doubt that this is a combination we will soon be seeing off the catwalk too.

Prada also showcased some classic Miu Miu 1940’s silhouette gowns throughout the collection representing femininity and youthfulness. This pop of femininity throughout the show juxtaposes the more masculine pieces Miuccia introduced this season.

The longline sheer dresses were the stars of the show covered head to toe in crystals. A bedazzled version of the low rise two piece made its debut on the runway paired with a belt, layered over the iconic branded matching silk undergarments in true Miu Miu style.

Muccias FW22 show has indicated to everyone that the two-piece lives on and there is no doubt we will be seeing even more of the garment this year. It will be interesting to see what else will be picked up from this collection.
