Ready-to-wear: Chanel AW22

Chanel stuck to their statement tweed looks in their recent Ready-To-Wear Autumn Winter collection 2022 at Paris Fashion week but giving us; a weekend away at the countryside looks.

Celebrities such as Jennie Kim from BLACKPINK, Georgia May Jagger, Venus Williams, actress Ellie Bamber and model Iman Perez attended the show sporting something tweed to support Virginie Viard on her new collection.

Jennie sported an all-black Chanel outfit for the show. She wore a matching mini skirt and jacket that had the brand name embroidered all over it paired with a black bandeau crop top and open toe black heels. She accessorised this with a mini Chanel handbag and so white lace socks.

The set design for this collection was covered with tweed as it shows the infinite ways tweed can be styled with a variation of different colours. The walls were a black and white tweed with the Chanel sign giving off different pops of colour. They combined that with the catwalk being a pale blue to represent Scotland’s River Tweed.

One of the looks was a black leather dress accessorised with a gold chain belt and thick pale green tweed tights. The thick tweed tight made an appearance with quite a lot of the looks in this collection in a variety of different colours.

A lot of the outfits from dresses to skirts were paired with rubber wellington boots sporting the Chanel logo at the front to give the wellington boots more of an elegant look to them. The boots varied between black and beige.

One of the most eye-catching pieces of the collection was shown toward the end of the show. Virginie Viard has recreated tweed into a short dress which is embroidered with sequins to give it the tweed effect with an added sparkle to it. This dress was different to the countryside attire as it shows tweed in a more modern look but it fits in perfectly with the collection.

Overall, the show showed an everything tweed theme. Bringing, countryside fashion into everyday clothing with a wide variety of colours.
