Review: Rimmel’s Match Perfection, a bargain base

At £7.99 a bottle, Rimmel London’s Match Perfection foundation is great value for money. The bottle has a handy pump dispenser so there is no need to pour the weightless liquid, and it’s less likely to produce any spillages or product waste. It’s easy to apply with a make-up brush, too!

The product claims to create “visibly perfected and healthier looking skin” which appears to be true. The liquid has high, buildable coverage without being too heavy and creates a beautiful base by fusing with your skin’s natural colour rather than solely sitting on top of it, like some more dense foundations.

However, one negative aspect of the product is that it doesn’t tend to last for a full 24-hour period, especially with a poor quality powder. But, what can you expect from such a cheap foundation? I’ve found that it is best paired with Rimmel’s Stay Matte pressed powder because the product doesn’t have a matte finish. Heads up, it does not suit those with an oily skin type because it has a moisturising quality to it.

The product comes in a range of different shades from ‘Light Porcelain’ to ‘Deep Mocha’. On Rimmel London’s website you can virtually try the make-up on by choosing your shade and viewing how it looks on a model. However, I would recommend going into a high-street store and swatching the testers on your hand to get the perfect shade for you.

This product is a steal at such a cheap price and is available in high street stores such as Boots and Superdrug, making it is easily accessible in The Bridges.
