Music superstar Rihanna will rock the Wearside once again on June 18 2016, when she is set to return to the Stadium of Light as part of her highly anticipated Anti World Tour.

She will be joined by The Weekend and Big Sean, who are special guests for the European shows of the tour.

Rihanna last performed at the Stadium of Light in 2013.

SAFC’s commercial director, Gary Hutchinson, said: “We are thrilled to be welcoming Rihanna back to the Stadium of Light. Her first visit to Wearside was a huge success, breaking the record for concert-goers at the Stadium with over 56,000 people attending.

“Rihanna is one of the biggest artists of her generation and this announcement has cemented the Stadium as one of the top venues in the UK for major music acts.”

The singer, who is the top-selling digital artist of all time with 54 million albums and 210 million digital tracks sold worldwide, will also play at Coventry, Cardiff, London, Glasgow and Manchester in the UK.

Although details about Rihanna’s forthcoming eighth album Anti haven’t yet been revealed, the dates of the tour, which is going to support it, were announced yesterday. The Anti World Tour will kick off in February at San Diego and it will close in August at Zurich, Switzerland.

Tickets will go on sale on Thursday, December 3 from the Stadium of Light and approved ticket agents and also online at www.livenation.com.
