Anya Gould, a 21 year old student and model from Sunderland, will represent England in the Miss Intercontinental 2015 beauty pageant on December 18 in Magdeburgh, Germany.
Anya, who was crowned Miss Intercontinental England earlier this year, will take to the stage at the Maritim Congress Hotel next Friday. She will compete against 65 girls from around the world in the final stage of the contest, in a bid to win the official Beauty Queen title across all the continents.
Anya said: “I am very excited and I can not believe I have this opportunity to represent my country, so I take it with open arms. I am so grateful and thankful to everyone who has supported me.”
The North East beauty queen, who studies Business Management at the University of Sunderland, was previously given the title Miss Sunderland in 2013.
Anya said: “This is a job that I love and I am positive and enthusiastic about every given task. When I was younger I aimed to be the best that I could be and achieve my dreams; I hope my determination inspires others.”
On the evening, Miss Gould will be judged on her national costume, evening wear, swimwear and interview. Her national costume is inspired by the queen and has been made by Sunderland based brand, OdinRox.
The seamstress behind the dress, Tracey Waters, said: “She picked the design herself and approached me with a picture. It’s our own slant on being patriotic, as the design is a burgundy and cream dress with a long train, long sleeves and a stand up neck. She didn’t think I would be able to make it, but I worked from the image and the finished design looks fantastic. I haven’t actually seen Anya wear the dress yet, so I will be eagerly waiting for photos of her on the night.”
The currently titleholder of Miss Intercontinental, Patraporn Wang from Thailand, will judge the evening and pass over her crown to the successor.
