The most stylish places to see Santa Claus this Christmas

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas. Here at Fashion North, we’ve all started to write our Christmas lists, so we think it’s about time to visit Santa, but obviously, we want to do it in style.

So, here is a list of the most stylish places to see the lovely Father Christmas himself, right here in the North East.

1) Santa’s Grotto at Fenwick, Newcastle

From November 16, Santa’s Grotto opens at Newcastle’s very own stylish Fenwick. Why not make a day of it and visit their famous Alice and Wonderland themed Christmas window and then visit Mr Claus himself? As always, visiting Santa is free at Fenwick, but this year they have also introduced an option where you can pay £4, and receive a present from Santa. Santa’s Grotto will be open from November 16, to December 23.

2) Santa’s Grotto at As You Like It, Newcastle

See Santa Claus in style at As You Like It in Jesmond, the ever stylish part of Newcastle. Santa’s magical grotto will be open every Saturday and Sunday from 12pm until 4pm every Saturday and Sunday in December, plus Monday December 23 and Tuesday December 24. Tickets are £12.

3) Santa’s Grotto at the Metrocentre, Gateshead

You can go and visit Father Christmas at intu Metrocentre. Santa’s Grotto is open now up until Christmas Eve. Located in the Lower Qube of the Yellow mall, not only is visiting Mr Claus free but you will also get a free gift from the man himself. Why not make a day of it and do some Christmas Shopping while your there? intu Metrocentre’s Christmas decorations are also worth a visit – if this doesn’t put you in the Christmas spirit we don’t know what will.

4) Santa’s Grotto at The Bridges, Sunderland

From November 14, shoppers at The Bridges will get the chance to take a break from their Christmas Shopping and pay a visit to Santa Claus. Only £2 per person, this grotto is open between 10am and 4pm Monday to Saturday and 10am to 5pm on Sunday.

5) Santa’s Grotto at Beamish, Durham

Meet Father Christmas in the North East’s most fashionable living museum, Beamish. Chat to Mr Claus and discuss your Christmas list as he hands out mulled wine and roasted chestnuts at his magical grotto. Make sure you pay the sweet shop a visit and take home some of Beamish’ amazing cinder toffee while you’re there. Father Christmas arrives on December 6 and is there for the following two saturdays in the lead up to Christmas.

6) Santa’s Grotto at South Shields Museum and Art Gallery

From December 7, the locals of South Shields will be able to pay Santa a visit as he takes last minute Christmas present requests. The grotto will be open from 12pm until 2.30pm each Saturday until Christmas and costs £5.
