Plunging neck lines are a huge trend right now and we’re all guilty of wearing one now and again. The majority of dresses and tops selling in shops now have the plunging neckline and we take a look into the jaw-dropping trend.
Student and model, Chloe Nevin, said: “You can wear this trend with just a pair of jeans and still look dressy enough to go out, so I’d say, with it being winter, you don’t have to shave and tan your legs but still pull off a plunge neck top and feel ready to go out.”
Many celebrities are seen wearing very revealing dresses, showing more flesh than maybe should be shown but because of this, it is seen as ‘sexy’ and is becoming more and more popular with younger adults.
We all know the unwritten rule of showing either your legs or chest, but do we always obey this rule? Rita Ora has been spotted on numerous occasions showing off her figure with extreme plunging necklines, which has been known to be a very risky outfit to pull off.
Selena Gomez is another celebrity to pull of this trend at the recent Victoria Secret show, where she accessorised the low cut dress with a black harness.
Topshop Sales Assistant, Meghan Sweeney, said: “One of our best seller products is the plunge neck body which comes in both sparkly and velvet and in a variety of different colours. They’re also quite common in jumpsuits and long sleeve bodies to wear with trousers or jeans which help balance the look. The neckline itself is great to accessorize, with body jewellery or long necklace.”
