Wear your heart on your sleeve this Valentine’s Day

Valentines

This weekend brings the most controversial, opinion diving holiday of the year – Valentine’s Day.

But whether you love it or loathe and whether you’re single or taken, you can’t deny the cuteness of the kitsch heart-themed items that flood our favourite high street stores at this time of year.

Here is our run down of our favourite:

Slogan tops are a staple in the Valentine’s run-up. This River Island tee (£16) offers a coffee-based pun and is perfect for a single girl wanting to make Valentine’s Day light-hearted and fun. You can take the slogan, and coffee, theme from day to night by changing into this comfy Forever 21 PJ set (£10) – ideal for a girly pamper night in.

For a daytime look, try this ASOS jumper (£30). It could work for a daytime date, as it’s knitted and oversized, which makes it just the right amount of smart and casual. Its classic monochrome stripes – with the smallest nod to the heart theme on the elbows – mean it’s totally wearable all year round.

If you want to dress up, this Boohoo playsuit (£18) is for you. The shape, with cute short sleeves and flared shorts, is pretty and practical while the dotted heart print is just so adorable. It would be easy to dress up with bare legs and red court shoes, or dress down with tights, boots and a leather jacket.

Accessory-wise, ASOS have this gorgeous clutch bag (£25), which is available in daring red or classy black and complete with a giant gold heart, they are eye-catching, beautiful as well as being the perfect size for all essentials.

Topshop can help you nail the heart trend from head to toe. Start by adding one of these printed hair accessories to your locks, whether you pair the headband (£6) with a 50s up-do or the scrunchie (£4) with a high ponytail, these are bound to tie together any look. If you want your feet to feel the love then you need these socks (£3.50). From the ankle down they look like your standard black sock, but then a little further up is a FLUFFY heart!
