River Island’s Design Forum – James Long Collaboration

Back in November sketches were released for the new River Island Design Forum collection with menswear designer, James Long.

Now the fashion film has been released at London Collections: Men in January, and the final images have landed.

The 10-piece collection, due out towards the end of February, incorporates traditional streetwear styles with up to date textures of PVC and neoprene.

Each piece within the collaboration would work as standout pieces, or work in harmony with each other for a full head to toe look.

The nylon bomber jacket is instantly the hero of the partnership, with its golden zips on the shoulders transforming it into a gilet, complete with hand drawn graffiti style artwork by James himself.

Sweatshirts, T-shirts and bomber jackets combine graphic abstract designs in monochrome with hints of primary colours, created in a selection of different fabrics using applique technique.

The bottom half hasn’t been forgotten about, with sweatpants and shorts mirroring the collections textures of neoprene with piping down the sides.

Accessories complete the full James Long look, with mirrored sunglasses and a graffiti backpack, one of the must have bags of the season.

The collection starts at £28 to £90 and is available from selected stores and online from the late February. Join in the conversation on Twitter with #RIXJAMESLONG.
