5 easy ways to add plum to your look

So, summer is over and done with, and we are officially into the autumn months now.

This is around about the time when people start incorporating the brown, cream and burgundy tones into their outfits, but this year we’re making a conscious effort to add a new colour into our wardrobes and beauty collections – plum.

Earlier this week, This Morning host Holly Willoughby was seen sporting a plum faux leather midi skirt by British clothing retailer Boden. She paired it with matching heeled pumps and a pale blue knitted jumper by Brora Cashmere – she looked amazing, as always!

To help you add plum tones into your wardrobe, we’ve chosen some of our favourite plum coloured items in the fashion and beauty world – happy shopping!

Zara halter neck bodysuit in Light Purple – £12.99

You really can’t beat a classic Zara bodysuit! These bodysuits are so comfy and versatile, they can be worn with joggers for a comfy at home look or they can be paired with jeans and heels for a meal or night out (not that we can really have those at the moment!)

Pretty Little Thing seamless sports bra and leggings – £15.00 and £18.00

This activewear is perfect for any gym bunnies who want to look good whilst working out, whether that’s actually at the gym or just doing a workout at home. And for those who don’t have the energy or time to exercise at the moment (like many of us), this set is perfect for lounging around or working from home.

Missguided recycled fluffy scarf – £6.00 (sale)

A scarf is a great way to incorporate plum into your wardrobe if you don’t want to go too overboard. Pair it with an oversized jumper, jeans or leggings, and some boots to create the ideal autumnal look.

Huda Beauty amethyst obsessions palette – £25.00

As Cult Beauty say on their website, this palette really is proof that good things come in small packages! These nine gorgeous eyeshadows – which include six duo-chrome shimmers and three matte shades – provide a great range of different plum/purple tones and are perfect for anyone who is more into beauty, rather than fashion.

MAC matte lipstick in Instigator – £17.50

This shade is a winner for anyone who loves to be bold and brave when it comes to their lipstick choices! Team it with bronzed skin and a neutral eye look, so that the focus is really on your lips.
