In the midst of a huge pandemic, designers and stylists alike have given us the chance to spread a little joy into our lives from the online catwalk.
The recent spring/summer 2021 runway shows have proved a perfect distraction from COVID-19 headline-grabbing news and have offered us an insight into their newest and most whimsical ideas and designs.
The most recent collection that caught my eye has to be Halpern with each piece being completely unique and almost contrasting each other with their various colours, abstract shapes, materials and patterns. But with each garment being just as formal and office chic as the other.
Throughout the collection the stand-out style was a stunning cherry red, tartan patterned, tailored mini dress which screams 1990’s ‘Clueless’ vibes, whilst also bringing back the classic heritage of Scottish tartan – giving the piece an overall classy yet formal style.
Even when it comes to the neckline and sleeves of the garment, the underestimated and flattering square-neck and quarter length sleeves give the dress an office-esque type appearance, especially with the matching pointed kitten heel shoes also designed in the beautiful cherry red tartan pattern and material – creating an office chic appearance rather than party central. But by far my most favourite part has to be the contrasting midnight black feathered sleeves creating a stunning 1920s comeback and adding a fun flare and distinctive character to the overall style and garment.
