British style icon, Alexa Chung, has collaborated with Marks and Spencer to create a collection of unique fashions inspired by the M&S archive.

Alexa said: “I have always had an affection for Marks & Spencer. I am thrilled to be part of this special and unique project. There was something very touching about looking back through the British fashion and social history for which M&S is synonymous”.

The collection is different to that of any other M&S collection due to the historical fashion influences combined with modern fabric choices and a fresh colour palette. The collaborate began when Alexa was allowed access to their archive in the heart of Leeds, where records are kept of each and every piece the brand has ever produced.

Key pieces of the collection include a WW2 inspired pine coloured trench coat and a White victorian-style shirt, with a high neck frills channelling the new romanticism era. The 31 piece collection is priced from £19.50 for the  Ruth vest two pack and are available in most stores in the UK and to £89 for the Frances Mac. Click here to see if your store is participating.

The collection is the first part of a series M&S are exclusively hosting in collaboration with today’s most thriving individuals, including stylists, designers and brands.
