As the Holy Trinity once said: “Doesn’t it feel like Christmas?” and the answer is yes, it does! With December finally upon us we can start going mad for the festive time without seeming too eager. So here it is, a physical list of all the gifts give in Destiny’s Child’s Christmas song “8 Days of Christmas” and the more affordable options.

On the 8th day of Christmas my baby gave to me… A pair of Chloé shades and a diamond belly ring.

Chloé shades are the ultimate accessory for fashion forward girls but are on the pricier side so we found these River Island and Topshop alternatives. These wallet friendly pairs are very similar to Chloé’s Dafne and Myrte styles.

Belly rings aren’t as common as they used to be in back when this song was released back in 2001, so we found actual diamond rings for you or your significant other. This white gold illusion solitaire cut ring from H.Samuel is a perfect gift for that special someone in your life.

With them usually being called a girl’s best friend, men think they can’t wear them too. With this H.Samuel titanium ring with a small diamond you can wear this beautiful gem and still look manly.

If you’re not sure what size to get, request a free ring sizer from their website.

On the 7th day of Christmas my baby gave to me… A nice back rub and he massaged my feet.

A massage from your partner is always a nice sentiment but sometimes a spa getaway is just what everyone needs sometimes. Book treatments at Seaham Hall, especially after a stressful Christmas period.

They have a range of treatments such as; holistic massages, Ytsara treatments, Sundari treatments, ishga treatments and a range of things for men. They also have a gym for members to use with a range of equipment.

On the 6th day of Christmas my baby gave to me… A cropped jacket with dirty denim jeans.

Cropped jackets in 2001 were usually cropped so that the whole midriff was on show. Nowadays they’re not as tacky and cropped at the waist. This ASOS stone leather jacket is the perfect addition to any girl who wants to add a bit of an edge to her wardrobe.

Pair it with these ‘Washed Wide Boy’ jeans by Boutique at Topshop and a pair of studded boots for the ultimate rock girl chic look.

On the 5th day of Christmas my baby gave to me… A poem that he wrote for me.

A personal poem is always a thoughtful thing to give to someone, but it can also be incredibly cringe-worthy so you should leave it to the professionals.

Sylvia Plath is one of the world’s most known poets along with Edgar Allan Poe, and a collection of their best works will always be appreciated by a poem lover. ‘Ariel’ is a collection of Plath’s works and ‘The Complete Tales and Poems of Edgar Allan Poe’ is a bit more obvious but it includes all his stories and not just poems.

On the 4th day of Christmas my baby gave to me… A candlelit dinner for me and my honey.

Romantic dinners are always a good idea but after Christmas no one really wants to cook for a while with all the leftovers so booking a table at a nice restaurant is great sentiment.

Peace and Loaf in Jesmond offers a range of beautiful food for it’s customers to enjoy. The menu is a bit richer than your usual food palate but still one that you should definitely try.

If you don’t want to head all the way to Jesmond for your meal, head to 21 (twenty one) in the heart of Newcastle’s Quayside.

On the 3rd day of Christmas my baby gave to me… A gift certificate to get my favourite CDs.

Vinyls and cassettes are practically obsolete these days so it’s not long before CDs are going to be gone forever until a random revival of them happens in a decade or so. Some computers don’t even have a disc drive installed on them anymore so instead of wasting money on physical copies, buy an Amazon/iTunes/Google Store gift card for your other half.

This way they can buy what they want and get it on their phones and they don’t have to buy the whole album. Nothing says love like being able to choose the songs you like off a record to buy.

On the 2nd day of Christmas my baby gave to me… Keys to a CLK Mercedes.

Now, a car is not something that a regular person would receive for Christmas unless you’re, like, so totally Paris Hilton or Kim Kardashian right?

Okay so this one is more for the girls on what to buy their boyfriend for his car, but with the new Star Wars film coming out this month it would be perfect timing to get him one (or all) of Halfords’ talking plush key chains.

You could buy him something a bit more thoughtful like a personal number plate (but they can be a bit pricey so the key chain is probably best).

On the 1st day of Christmas my baby gave to me… Quality T-I-M-E.

We all know the festive season is about spending time with family and giving, but nothing screams caring than spending some well deserved quality time with your partner.

Spend a day doing something they want to do, go see that movie they’ve been dying to see, take them to that new cafe for a cute little date (we recommend Mog on The Tyne) or even take a picnic and have a day out to somewhere.

It really is the thought that counts when it comes to Christmas, but it does help if they really like their presents!
