Award-winning British actress Emma Watson has been chosen to play the role of Belle in the new live-action film Beauty and the Beast.
Emma, 24, was announced as the main role yesterday (January 26), after many speculations over the past month.
The Women’s Rights ambassador said: “It was such a big part of my growing up, it almost feels surreal. My six-year-old self is on the ceiling – heart bursting. I can’t wait for you to see it.”
A press release from Disney has revealed that filming will start later this year, with Bill Condon as the director.
