Five all-time-favourite fashion movies you should watch this autumn

There’s nothing better than a hot cup of tea or coffee and a good old movie on a cold autumn evening.

Here at Fashion North we’ve picked out our top five all-time-favourite fashion films, that’ll keep you entertained over the cold coming months. But be warned, they may make you head to the shops and spend a whole lot of money.

  1. Coco Before Chanel

This movie is a real must! If you are a lover of fashion you need to know the biography of the biggest fashion icon ever. This movie is not just about fashion, but also about the life of famous Coco and the birth of the most luxurious brand. If you haven’t seen the movie yet, now’s the chance.

  1. The Devil Wears Prada

This movie will show you behind the scenes of a fashion magazine, where some women will do anything to be at the top. An uncompromising world of fashion, hard work, sacrificing and also plenty of amazing clothes, brought to the movie hilarious success worldwide. This film needs to be at the top of your watch list, if you haven’t seen it already. If you have, there’s no harm in watching it for maybe, what? The 100th time.

  1. Dior and I

This documentary movie should not miss your list. Not only because ‘’Dior and I’’ is full of beautiful dresses, but because of the hard work which is hidden behind creating the most luxurious models from this fashion house. You can see the life of Creative Director  Raf Simons and the birth of his Houte Couture collection.

  1. The September Issue

The September Issue offers the unique opportunity to see the backstage preparation for one of the biggest issues of American fashion magazine, Vogue. You also get to know more on Editor-in-Chief, Anna Wintour. This traditional magazine issue weighed almost two kilos and was sold 13 million times. Be prepared for a funny sight into several offices on Times Square.

  1. Yves Saint Laurent

The story of a 17-year-old boy, Yves Saint Laurent, who goes to Paris and becomes a colleague of Christian Dior. The film is original, provocative and inspirational, just like the main character- one of the most talented designers of the fashion world. This movie is mostly about the relationship between Yves and his boyfriend Pierre, but also about the struggles of starting their own brand.
