Every year, Pantone release their colour of the year based on what trends are set to be big for the following year. Usually they provide us with one colour, but for 2016 we’ve been blessed with two.
Rose Quartz and Serenity are beautiful hues of pink and blue that complement each other well, and as the name suggests, they’re quite calming colours and are very easy on the eyes.
This years pick, by the provider of professional colour standards, came from a variety of inspirations but as fashion lovers we noticed that it was pulled from the catwalks of Emilio Pucci, BCBG and more.
Rose Quartz
Homeware – Add a splash of colour to your bedroom with this Rose Quartz bedding to add a serene feel to the room.
Trousers – Proving that pink is not just for women, these Topman Skinny Fit trousers will add a pop of colour to your office. For the women, these River Island cropped flares will easily have all eyes on your wherever you go.
Shoes – Kurt Geiger really knows how to do a pair of shoes and these pink pumps make no difference. These statements shoes will go perfect with a pair of boyfriend jeans and a casual blazer.
Makeup – If you’re not the one to wear this kind of colour in your everyday outfit, add the colour to your face. This Sephora palette will create the best shimmery, seductive eye with one of 2016’s biggest colours.
Jackets – Again a colour that is usually associated with the boys, but this Mary Jacket from Weekday.com adds femininity to the colour. For the men, navy is the usual colour for a blue blazer but this brighter shade will make you seem more lively and fun.
Shoes – If you want your summer shoe (it’s December, I know) grab these from Topshop and you’ll not only be prepared for the warmer months but you’ll have everyone envious of your style.
