Newcastle City Centre and the surrounding areas are filled with independent shops, from fashion boutiques to vintage stores. Everything you could possibly need is right in front of you and, with the festive season quickly approaching, independent stores have become our best friends.
Independent retailers, Longsands Clothing Co. and The Yesterday Society Vintage Boutique have started to prepare for the busy Christmas season.
Longsands Clothing, Operations Director, Liz said:
“We generally do most of our marketing on social media and this ramps up massively at Christmas time.”
“All of our clothing is designed, printed and labelled in the North East for example so we are pumping a massive proportion of our costs back into the local economy, I think people like that.”
Owner of The Yesterday Society, Rachael said:
“In the run up to Christmas I just ensure my brand has the same great selection and great value as the rest of the year. We do pop out some different lines such as vintage Christmas jumpers which are always popular.”
