The news was announced last night (December 8) that Julia Roberts is the new face of Givenchy.
Posting on his personal Instagram, Givenchy’s Artistic Director, Riccardo Tissci, unveiled the French fashion house’s Spring ’15 campaign by saluting the star with “WELCOME DEAR JULIA” along with a photo.
Moments later, he treated us to another sneak peak simply titled “ICON” showing the 47-year-old smouldering in black and white masculine attire.
Speaking to Style.com, Tissci said he was shocked to have landed the Pretty Woman actress because she holds such a mystery in Hollywood.
He continued and said: “I wanted it to be an honest collection, true to myself and true to Givenchy, of course, but more to myself. It was a very pure message. Very black and white. A powerful woman, with sex appeal but at the same time with masculinity, which is my style.”
Other than her long term contract with luxury brand Lancôme, it’s been a long time since Roberts has done any modelling and we are extremely excited to see this undoubtedly powerful return.
