LFW AW17: Topshop Unique

Colourful, one word to describe Topshop Unique’s Autumn/ Winter 2017 fashion show.

As one of the most popular shows of London Fashion Week and a hot-spot to see all the famous faces, the Topshop Unique show is always one to watch. However, with countdowns to the ‘90s inspired show on all social media platforms and backstage pictures flooding their Instagram feed, it wouldn’t be easy to avoid the hype.

This year the show came to you from the Tate Modern’s brand new ‘Tank Space’. A dark and industrial space that lit up with coloured lights and even more colour on the runway.

With numerous bloggers like Amelia Liana, Lydia Millen and Tasha Oakley taking their seats on the front row among the A-list likes of Sofia Richie, Olivia Palermo and Will-i-am, it’s safe to say it was a very fashionable FROW.

Layers on layers on layers of clothing. Light flowing dresses layered over jumpers and structured trousers and dresses layered under oversized, heavy knitted jumpers. It’s the perfect way to transition into the changing seasons.

With bright blues, yellows and reds heavily featured on the runway paired with numerous striped pieces, it’s hard not to completely fall in love.

And features of embellished dresses and trendy sheer clothing it’s clear they’re here to stay for a while longer.

Utility jackets and colourful shaggy textured coats are what dreams are made of, worn along with either heeled ankle boots or barely there high heeled shoes are a definite yes for the Autumn/ Winter season.

The ‘90s inspired hair and makeup of perfectly straight locks courtesy of L’Oreal and a minimal makeup look, where every model rocked a red lip, accompanied the already colourful collection perfectly.

A selection of the clothes seen on the runway were available to buy at the Topshop pop-up stall directly after the show and are available to buy online now. The second half of the collection is coming out later in the year.
