It is no surprise that Alice Temperley outdone herself once again with the magical setting of a pirate ship under the moonlight which loomed over the show.
This exquisite catwalk was filled with embroidery, lace, prints and ruffles. There was certainly an essence of flow emphasised by the elegant lightweight dresses, skirts and trouser suits. The outfits were feminine, effortless and delicate this epitomises what Temperley London is about.
The whole theme felt adventurous with the confident design choices. The colours that were used were quite subtle with shades of serenity, lilac grey and green flash. The patterns were aesthetically pleasing and the sheer mesh depicted the theme of mermaids who beguiled before pirates. It appeared that the collection celebrated traditional tattoos such as the swallow, roses, and anchors – Alice Temperley staying true to her British heritage.
Embroidery was a key point of the catwalk this is not surprising as intricate handwork embellishment is synonymous with founder and creative director Alice Temperley. Not only was embellishment a key point ruffles were also prominent as supermodel, Cindy Bruna, wowed the audience in her layered tulle ruffled monochrome dress.
Capes and military inspired coats also made an appearance this is something close to Alice Temperley’s heart as she’s an ambassador for ‘Women for Women International’ helping women survivors rebuild their lives.
Going into 16 years of business, Temperley London has a strong fan base; such as Rita Ora, Jennifer Lopez and Suki Waterhouse. It is apparent that Temperley London is adored by many; even the Duchess Kate Middleton has worn this brand on countless occasions.
There were many famous faces among the crowd of Temperley London’s catwalk a few to be named was Olivia Grant, Samantha Barks and Daisy Lowe.
The evening wear was my favourite look the signature sheer mesh dresses looked so delicate covered in beaded embroidery. I loved the back details on the dresses some incorporated the signature bow that had been present a lot throughout the catwalk. This catwalk had to be one of my favourites from London Fashion Week as it screamed out luxury.
