London Collections: Men – Hardy Amies A/W 15

Inspired by Woodsworth’s seminal poem Snowdon, design director Mehmet Ali spoke about influencing inspiration for this collection: “Mount Snowdon became the focus of the concept for this winter season. The colour studies by Turner and the poem by Wadsworth created the setting for a story about modern man’s ascent of the mountains.”

This is why this season it should be called the Saville Road explorer. Mehmet Ali has managed to channel the theme of Mount Snowdon but stayed faithful to the beautiful, bespoke tailoring. Sharp suits and splendid coats were plenty on the catwalk. Amie’s A/W 14 collection had a mix of evening wear, traditional tailoring and sportswear that were met with prefect precision.

In more details the collection consisted of single and double breasted suits in rich teals and deep blue. With dusty pink, grey and light brown coats with fur trims, and high neck, two tone jumpers. The trousers are cropped at the ankle, finishing off the looks were brogues and large rucksacks and bowling bags; perfect for all intrepid explorers.

A personal favourite was the mustard mac which no doubt will prove to be popular for the coming season. This collection provides casual tailored pieces and perfect outdoor attire for our British weather.
