One thing that always delivers is a good print, and Jonathan Saunders certainly knows how to do that.
This autumn/winter the designer is taking us back to the 60s, and his simple A-line dresses blazoned with bright psychedelic prints stole the show.
Along with eye-catching designs, colour blocking is big with this collection. Instead of ombré-ing the colours on tops and skirts, the colours are carefully stacked on top of each other. Each colour is placed exactly where it needs to be to create the illusion of a thinner waist, which is unusual for horizontal stripes.
Slimming horizontals paired with slimming vertical stripes is what most people want to hear. Pairing stripes with uniform trousers created the visual of legs that go on forever. That being said, the lace up thigh high boots played with that illusion.
The deep colours of the leather boots contrasted with the playful summer tones of the garments to create that perfect autumn day look. By using these bright fabrics, the collection takes out the dullness of the cold winter months and puts fun back into it.
