Marc Jacobs’ leads a 60s resurgence

This is one of our personal favourite looks from the Marc Jacobs show for Autumn/winter 2020. The look features a three-piece yellow suit set, clearly reminiscent of the 1960’s with a nod to the classic tweed Chanel suit Lagerfeld reinvented in the period. Jackie Kennedy was also seen sporting a similar suit in fuchsia and blue in 1963, on the day her husband was assassinated. However, the vivid and cheerful yellow makes this piece a great transition from the warmth of summer to Autumn and would bring a smile to anyone’s face on a rainy September day. Marc Jacobs is known for some rather fashion forward collections and designs, but this outfit feels oddly tame and adds a welcome layer of versatility and wearability.

The bralette style top is a modern twist on our classic opinion of a skirt suit, which to some, may feel somewhat outdated. The look is beautifully accessorized with some yellow metallic ballet flats and a matching bag/beret set in a silver shade, acting as a neutral. The yellow tinted sunglasses are a call back to the mod styles of the 60’s, which were also repeated in the 2000’s- another era heavily influencing fashion currently.
