Beauty icon Marilyn Monroe has been named as the new face of Max Factor.
Although the beauty queen has been dead for 53 years, the make-up brand has chosen her to star in their print, online and TV campaigns. The campaigns will show her transformation from mousy Norma Jean to the iconic red-lipped sex symbol Marilyn Monroe.
Max Factor is celebrating 106 years since the brand was founded, and 80 years since Max Factor Junior opened his Hollywood make-up studio. Max Factor Junior worked with Monroe in the 40s.
In an announcement yesterday (January 5), Max Factor said: “Norma Jeane entered his [Max Factor’s] Blonde Room in the late 1940s as a brunette, and thanks to Mr. Max Factor emerged complete with platinum blonde hair, a beauty look fit for Marilyn Monroe.”
Marilyn Monroe was the face of Dior’s 2011 fragrance TV advert and the face of Chanel No.5 in 2013, as well as having a MAC collection dedicated to her in 2012.
The new Max Factor campaigns will start running from 6th January 2015.
