As we approach party season, our schedule becomes packed with social gatherings, from festive drinks with your hometown friends to dressing to impress for your work Christmas party. This means our wardrobe must reflect the joyfulness that December has to offer.
While we typically gravitate towards a party dress, usually short, covered in sparkles that leaves us braving the sub-zero weather conditions with bare legs, this year we can take a warmer approach and follow one of the biggest trends of the season: catsuits.

Gone are the days where we chose style over warmth. The catsuit is this season’s favourite and a much-loved fashion option by celebrities. This week we saw Hailey Bieber rocking a Saint Laurent floral number in Miami, and while in London for the British Fashion Awards, Priyanka Chopra was stunned in a head-to-toe floral Richard Quinn suit fitted with a matching coat and stiletto heels.
Take notes from these celebrities and swap your party dress for a Christmas catsuit.
Keep on the festive colour palette with an emerald green velvet one-shoulder jumpsuit from Pretty Little Thing (£22) or go head-to-toe disco ball with a gold sequin halter neck one-piece from River Island (£85).
If you spend hours scrolling through Instagram and TikTok, you will most likely be familiar with this figure-hugging Mugler catsuit. Designed with defining cutouts that shape the feminine body that has been a favourite seen on the likes of Billie Eilish for her British Vogue’s June 2021 cover and British singer Mabel for her Love Island 2021 appearance.

One of the biggest trends of 2021 has been cutouts and for this party season, blend the two must-have styles with this velvet cut out bodysuit with tulle cut out details from Bershka (£45.99).
