My Favourite Summer Products: Flat Lays Inspiration
For today’s styling challenge, I decided to create some cute and colourful flat lay photographs of my favourite summer items.
As the weather has started to warm up in recent days after months of freezing winter weather, I have gotten more and more excited to style some outfits and accessories for the hotter days to come.
The outfit:
This feminine style look consists of a classic light blue denim mini skirt, a pink lacy floral camisole top, a butterfly hair claw clip, a circular woven bag and tan leather cowboy boots.

I have paired it with the Hot Tropics Body Mist from Superdrug’s ‘Layering Lab’ range. The scent is a mixture of orange and vanilla, which is perfect for the summer months. The colours of the bottle also go perfectly with the warm tones of the clothes.
The everyday essentials:
For this photograph, I’ve put together some of my most used products on holiday and at home on the hotter days. This includes:
- Aloe vera (that I got in the Fuerteventura when I had a really bad sunburn a couple years ago)
- M&S cat eye sunglasses (my mum even has a matching pair!)
- Dr Paw Paw pink lip balm (the brand says you can also use this as a cream blush)
- Superdrug’s Cherry and Almond shower gel (perfect for a wash after those sweaty afternoons in summer)
- Pink butterfly claw clip (to keep your hair off your neck when you’re too warm)
- Sunday Girl Magazine October 2025 edition (to read whilst you’re sun bathing)
I love all the bright and colourful packaging on these summer products so I had to take a few extra photos…
In this flat lay, I added a couple more products including the So…? Ibiza Dreams body spray, Aussie SOS Save My Lengths hair oil, Nivea Watermelon flavour lip balm, Lacura sun cream lotion and shell pendant necklace that I bought from Etsy.
Lastly, I added a few of the smaller items to my denim skirt pocket. These lip balms are an essential for me as my lips are always chapped, even in summer! And of course, I had to include my cat eye sunglasses again as they are such a classic shape.
