Sunderland keeps the style on the streets transitional

It may be almost June but here in the North-East you definitely shouldn’t lock away your cosy winter staples just yet.

The high street might be starting to roll out the bikinis and summer playsuits but as Fashion North took to the streets of Sunderland, it was clear to see that the North East just isn’t ready to buy into the season yet.

Take some inspiration from the four brave ladies who showed our Street Style lens how they’ve been holding onto their winter woollies and keeping those layers well and truly on to battle the icy, spring chill.

Mankeerat Kaur, 23, from South Shields proved we’re still keeping the winter blues with a Navy blue knitted turtle neck H&M jumper, styled with ASOS light wash blue jeans and Topshop patent leather, ring pull boots. Turtle neck jumpers are a key wardrobe must-have and are perfect for layering and the slow transition into the warmer months when you live up North.
Caitlan Wright, 21, from Carlisle showed us how to keep warm but keep it stylish as she paired a grey Topshop longline blazer, a nude hoodie from Primark tucked into light wash, paper bag waist jeans from New Look and finished with Vans Classic slip-on nude and white checkerboard trainers from Schuh. Although this outfit is the height of comfort, it also has that street style edge keeping it on trend.
Natasha, 25, from Liverpool keeps her look high on trend with leopard print culottes from Primark, a khaki green roll neck jumper from Zara, and suede black fitted boots from Topshop. Culottes have been a huge trend this autumn winter and are the perfect transitional piece to take you through every season. The high street has caught onto the huge trend this year, with a wide range of colours and patterns available meaning there’s a pair for everyone and they are the perfect piece to flatter every body shape.
Finally, Erin Stutt, 21, from Newcastle wore an all Zara outfit to keep her cosy and casual as we transition into the warmer months. When transitioning, layering is a top tip as it makes it easy to remove, or more likely for the North East, put on layers. Sometimes, it can be difficult to keep a practical layered look chic but Erin has chosen a simple black roll neck jumper with cropper cream joggers, matching cream and taupe trainers and faux fur gilet for added warmth and we think it works perfectly.
