The ‘Roaring Twenties’ was a time of liberation, innovation, fun, and fashion.
Many incredible fashion firsts happened during the era when women were no longer restricted to uncomfortable corsets, and wearing trousers became a style trend rather than a practical piece of clothing. Waistlines dropped and hemlines rose and it eas the era associated with the flappers, who danced the night away in clubs, and the glamourous art deco movement. It seemed for the first time, clothing was being made with what modern women wanted.
Here is my 1920s-inspired fashion shoot moodboard:
Love the Twenties? Here are some art deco-inspired looks you can still shop today.
One of the main accessories of the 1920s was a luxurious strings of pearls, particularly adopted by iconic performer Josephine Baker. Luckily for us, pearls remain a staple in the modern jewellery industry so are easy to buy from the high street. Here are some options you can shop now.
Another trend from the 1920s we can recreate today is sequins. Sequins became popular during this era as women were out having fun and sequins added to this excitement by reflecting of light as they danced making the outfit even more dazzling.
