The SS19 TOMMY X ZENDAYA collection is shamelessly 70s and absolutely afrolicious: Here are our best picks

The TOMMY X ZENDAYA ready-to-wear Spring collection is now available for purchase online at Tommy Hilfiger after the runway debut that took place in Paris on March 2, 2019.

The show celebrates black ethnic features with models walking the runway with big, volumized hair, afros and curls.

This theme of big hair screams 1970s and encourages women to embrace their natural features. The collection empowers women through a theme of bold prints and a series of statement pieces.

This sleek, zodiac print suit is our favourite look from the collection as it radiates a vibrant energy but also showcases a sophisticated twist.

The three-piece pairing with a deep plunge button-up blouse, high-waisted, straight leg trousers and shirt-collared blazer creates a striking, satin ensemble earning a 5/5 rating from us.

These zodiac print trousers have already been announced sold out online due to their popularity.

This one shoulder maxi dress is another favourite, as this piece oozes 1980s with its one shoulder design, slit sleeve and thigh-high exposure.

The glitter-sheer style and ice grey colour are both outstanding attributes for this look and we adore the glamour it emits.

A theme of red leather was continuous throughout the show, and we have chosen this look as the stand-out styling of this daring feature.

The dark, cherry red, leather trousers decorated with multi-coloured buttons and matching knee-high boots demonstrate a breath-taking new twist on this timeless classic.

This collection aims to empower femininity and ‘make whoever puts it on feel powerful and confident,’ Zendaya told Vogue.

This same dark leather material has been used to create a belted midi-skirt. Both looks share a button up collar-and reverse shirt design with a navy/beige contrast along the shirt’s edges.

We love these looks due to their representation on different sized models. Showing the same fashion looks on various body shapes and sizes is a modern approach to fashion shows and we absolutely love the more realistic representation of women, another 5/5 rating from us.

Among the incredible variation of body types and ages, on the runway we spotted supermodels Winnie Harlow, Pat Cleeveland, Veronica Webb and Grace Jones (who closed the show!)

Here is a tribute to that iconic moment:
