20 ways to spoil yourself in self-isolation

You’d think it was the ideal time to slum around in your cosiest pyjamas, make-up free, bedhead hair, and with no one to judge you.

Our students are all still working hard from home on their fashion journalism coursework as well as Fashion North articles for you to enjoy during the coronavirus epidemic (waist-up dressing while #wfh, of course). And our fashionistas are making themselves feel better in self-isolation with these indoor treats and indulgences.

I’ve been using my more expensive items for my skincare routine, still putting on my jewellery and wearing comfys I’d definitely leave the house in!

My hair appointment was cancelled and I’ve been doing all I can to revive it! These two hair masks are amazing!! I might still have terrible roots but at least it’s silky smooth (and they smell amazing).

I’m focusing on trying to get my skin in better condition. I’ve suffered with it for years now and it’s something I’m really self conscious of. These are the products I currently use, I saw loads of girls recommending these Garnier products on Twitter so decided to give them a try! The Mario Badescu buffering lotion is amazing for those irritating/sore under the skin blemishes, makes them disappear so much quicker!

All Garnier products can be delivered from Boots.

I have been focusing on having dewy, glowing skin during this time indoors. I have been using the strawberry bowser serum mixed into my moisturiser from No7 and I have never known a product to make you so radiant and provide healthy looking skin. We also can’t forget an essential eye cream in the mix especially when at a laptop all day, it’s a must-have essential.

I brought spa to my home with this 3 in 1 body/hair/face Dead Sea mask Natural beauty secrets. The smell is so calming. Just add some relaxing music, close eyes and pretend you’re in spa.

Emily Parker

I was gifted a Jo Malone peony and blush suede candle a long time ago and I’m actually burning it! I was always too scared to before.

Alysha Stirling

I have definitely upped my skincare routine! Also using more luxe hair products – I use these all the time anyway, but more regularly at the moment to make myself feel good while I chill on the sofa! My treats are L’Oreal Serie Expert hair mask, Moroccan Oil, GHD Heat Protect and Moroccan Oil hairspray.

I’ve been spritzing myself with my very expensive perfume,  Santal 33 by Le Labo. It’s got top notes of violet and cardamom, with a leather and sandalwood base. I’m usually too scared to wear it as it’s so pricey. But it makes me feel better as I sit at my desk at home and reminds me of my days working in Manhattan where EVERYONE wore it.

You can get five taster Le Labo bottles from Net-A-Porter for £20 here.
