Tomorrow is New Years Eve and as we welcome in the New Year and all the things that 2018 has to offer, Fashion North decided to take a look back at 2017 and everything we have achieved this year.
We have taken a look through our archive and seen the trends, most viewed articles and key events of each month this year.

January
Trend: The biggest trend in January as can probably be guessed with all the New Years resolutions was organisers check out the article here
Most Viewed: Our most viewed article from January was the breaking news on the 25th that Alexandra Schulman was to leave British Vogue check it out for yourself here
What happened?: The event of January has to have been the Golden Globes where Stranger Things Milly Bobby Brown stole the show! Check it out here

February
Trend: Unicorns! Okay a bit of a cheat here as Unicorns were a big trend throughout the whole of 2017 but it was in February that Fashion North created this ‘how to’ tutorial of how to make Unicorn Hot Chocolates
Most Viewed: Our most viewed article in February was ‘Sunderland goes Punk’ following the Punk 1976-78, a British Library exhibition, at Sunderland Museum and Winter Gardens.
The styling team at Fashion North played with their rebellious side and did a punk themed photoshoot which included our very own intern Louise Barber. Check it out here
What happened?: The event of February was definitely the Grammy’s, where all eyes were on the stunning Beyoncé, who was pregnant at the time. Read it for yourself here

What happened?: Air Max Weekend! The event of March this year was Air Max Weekend which was cellebrated by Sunderlands menswear retailer Aphrodite check it out here

Trend: A weird trend took over in April – Hidden Hands! Check it out here

What happened?: British Vogue’s new editor, Edward Enninful, was announced in April which became a very big part of 2017 in Fashion. Check out the article here.

Trend: Fashion North content back in May was all about Men trying out beauty products check these out

Trend: We stuck to our Northern stereotypes (thanks to popular MTV reality show Geordie Shore) with the trend in June being all about Fake Tan read it here
Most Viewed: By the time June came around, deadlines had all got a bit too much for us and we were dreaming of a summer holiday, which is showed as our most viewed article from June was The top 10 essentials for a perfect holiday
What happened?: Fathers day! June is the time of year for all of us at Fashion North who are typical ‘Daddy’s little girls’ check out our gift guide here

What happened?: September is all about London, New York and all the other Fashion Weeks, as well as the glossy magazines bringing out their biggest and best issue of the year so we expected that to be the biggest news of September 2017 but unfortunately the big news that hit headlines was that on 27 September, Hugh Hefner, Playboy founder, had died. Trend: The trend of October especially on campus was Slogan T shirts. Read all about it here

What happened?: It was the Bridges Student Raid in October and we ran a style competition to find the best dressed shopper. Read about it here

Trend: The colour of Autumn this year has got to be mustard! Read about it here
Most Viewed: Our most viewed article from November was ‘Christmas is a hard time to start with but when you’ve got nothing it’s ridiculously hard’
What happened?: Every November, the Sunderland illuminations light up the city leading up to fireworks night in Roker park. However, this year was even better as it was Disney themed! Read about it here
Also in November: Everyone became completely obsessed with Stranger Things 2! However, the obsession was short lived as we had all binged watched the new series within 24 hours, but it continued to have an effect on Fashion read about it here
