Barbour X Gucci : The best high street dupes

Barbour, our favourite North East brand, has announced yet another collaboration for the Christmas season, this time with Gucci.

They are exploring the more environmentally conscious side of fashion using Gucci’s deadstock fabrics which have been sewn and up-cycled into Barbour’s Reloved collection adding a fun floral and feminine twist to the famed wax coats.

Paul Wilkinson, group commercial director of Barbour, in an interview with BAZAAR, said: “We are very proud to be partnering with Gucci Continuum on this project, extending the life of our garments and finding new uses for fabrics to collectively reduce our impact on the environment.

“We are particularly proud to have produced the pieces using our highly skilled machinists in our South Shields Factory, based in the North East of England where Barbour began and has been based for nearly 130 years’.”

We at Fashion North went to the High Street to look for some more affordable options that have the same effect.

River Island Coat (£75)

This quilted Coat from River Island emulates the Barbour Gucci energy with that iconic shade of green matched with a unique fur collar adding a fun new texture element for only £75.

Primark Parka (£38)

Primark scarf (£1)

We had a look in the ever-reliable Primark and found another Barbour-esque coat for £38 which could be paired with a floral/ colourful silk scarf to add the Gucci component to the look for only £1.

New Look Puffer (£79.99)

Primark satin scarf (£4.50)

Or you could head to New Look for a super cosy full-length option which has a very cool silhouette that embodies the more unusual atypical side of Gucci’s pieces for only £79.99, which could also be paired with a larger bright scarf to as to the patch work clash of different styles that this collection gives off.
