Beauty Review: we test out Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation

As someone with oily skin, I am always on the lookout for foundations that help my t-zone stay matte and control the oils my skin produces during the day. I also find with foundations, that as a result of my skin, they tend to move around my face or transfer very easily but with the Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation I find caters to all of my skin needs.

This product is available to purchase at Debenhams, Sunderland at the retail price of £33.50. Although this may seem a bit over budget for some of us, it is a high-end product that is definitely worth the price. Estee Lauder has included over 60 shades and tones of the Double Wear foundation and claims to have a perfect match for everyone.

The Double Wear Foundation claims to be long-wearing with a 15-hour staying power and having tested it out myself, I can certainly say it is very long-lasting and does not move around on my face which is what we all want in a foundation.

This foundation contains Cyclopentasiloxane which is a silicone ingredient that helps the fluidity of foundations and gives it that silky application. The first thing I noticed when applying it to the skin is exactly that, it was very smooth and glided on the skin without feeling too heavy. However, the great thing about this product is that it is a medium to buildable coverage and with that lightweight application it doesn’t leave your face feeling cakey so you can still achieve a natural look.

Another vital ingredient in the Double Wear Foundation is water. Water-based foundations are very popular as they are perfect for balancing out the skin’s production of oils whilst still keeping the skin nourished and hydrated.

I would rate this product a 9/10 because of how easy it is to apply to the skin and to build up the coverage you desire. I love how it made my skin look flawless and with the oil-controlling ingredients, it didn’t leave my skin looking greasy throughout the day.

I would highly recommend this foundation not just to people with oil-prone skin but just to everyone who loves a lightweight but buildable coverage foundation.
