Five bold lip colours suitable for your working week

Bold lips

Nude lipsticks can get boring, no matter how trustworthy they are, or how much you love them they can get boring especially for your working week. So, if you’re feeling a little fed up of your trusty nude lippy we’ve picked five bold lipsticks that may claim a space in your make-up bag.

Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet (34 La Raffinée) – £26

This lipstick, with its glorious velvet matte formula, glides over your lips with full coverage that isn’t too heavy. The long lasting creamy finish of dusty pink is your natural lip colour but 100x better. The elegant black and gold case brings you in, the click release gets you excited about the product, and the intense colours make you fall in love with the lipstick. It may be slightly pricey at £26.00 but it is definitely worth the money.

Revlon Colourstay Moisture Stain (005 Parisian Passion) – £7.99

This is a stain you need in your life. It lasts all day even past breakfast, lunch and dinner; not promising the same finish throughout the day but the colour stays. There is no budging till you bring out the make-up remover. Moisture stain is glossy with no stickiness – along with a great pigment it leaves your lips looking fuller and fabulous. Parisian Passion is the perfect vampy colour for the winter months, working well with a strong eye look or a simple neutral shadow and flick liner. At the small price of £7.99 it is a must have.

Rimmel Kate Matte Lipstick (107) – £5.49

The colour of this lipstick is gorgeous, dab it on for a pale pink toned red and layer it up for a deep red with purple tones. You’ll need moisturised lips for this product as the matte formula, although creamy, can clog up on the dry areas of your lips. It is a stunning lipstick with great staying power and will finish off your day or night look perfectly.

Nars Lip Gloss (Priscilla) – £19.50

Hot pink and daring, this bright and striking gloss has great pigment and super shine. The gloss looks great alone, however built up with a pink or red underneath – it looks absolutely divine. A 6ml bottle costs £19.50, worth it if you fancy splashing out.

Topshop Lip Cream (Pout) – £9

Orange and vibrant, this is a real show off colour to wear when you want to be noticed. Topshop’s lip creams, paints and varnishes all have a similar consistency that doesn’t tend to stay where it is supposed to. The formula for the lip cream in particular is very creamy and doesn’t seem to dry, the best way to wear this product is to put two layers on and blot. This is unless, your mouth is barely going to move throughout the day and then I say go full gloss! At £9.00 this product is a bit too expensive for the quality, but if you like the sound of it- go buy!
